This is the wonderful time of year when the holidays near and the gatherings of all things festive are mostly celebrated. In the health insurance industry, this time of year is called "Annual Election Period" or "Open Enrollment." That time frame is from October 15th to December 7th for the special insurance for people aged 65 & over or nearing 65 years old.

For people under 65 years old, the "open enrollment" period is from November 1 until December 15th for getting health insurance to be effective January 1st.
